Continuing the series on Cold Busted 80s Casual releases ‘Volume 4’ seven tracks of Downtempo, Electronic and Instrumental funkiness. ‘My Gazelles’ begins the album with a nonchalant feel, a drop into relaxed bass and rhythm, boogie hip hop and R&B vocal samples for a grooving tune. ‘It’s My Game’ is another favorite with a fresh and funky street jive, vinyl scratching, smooth reverb, horn staccato and harmonica notes, nostalgic samples, and a smooth upright bass stepping nicely. ‘Stewdio 1’ is a heady dub tune with a calm booming sub bass, off beat reverb strings and subtle snares, rasta vocals and a lovely rhythm guitar, a spaced out soiree of fun. Following and ending the compilation properly is ‘Lulu’, grooving nicely with gentle bongo drums, a funky bass, pleasing piano and organ notes, echoing beautifully ushering in a sexy sax and pretty synth bleeps. Sonically unique and as usually funky and electronically delicious, ‘Volume 4’ is not one to miss.
